The Six Million Dollar Man follows the story of Colonel Steve Austin, a former astronaut who is severely injured in an experimental test flight. Austin is rebuilt using bionic technology and given superhuman strength and speed, as well as other special abilities such as telescopic vision and enhanced hearing. He is then recruited by the OSI agency to work as a secret agent, undertaking various missions and battling enemies and villains.
Throughout the series, Austin's bionic implants are upgraded and enhanced, and he faces a range of challenges and threats, from alien invasions to hostile governments to international crime syndicates. He is aided by his boss Oscar Goldman (played by Richard Anderson) and a team of scientists and engineers who maintain and improve his bionic technology.
