Movin' On followed the adventures of two truckers, Sonny Pruitt (played by Claude Akins) and Will Chandler (Frank Converse), as they crisscrossed the United States in their 18-wheeler truck, which they affectionately called "Miss Daisy". The show focused on the challenges and adventures that the two men faced on the road, as well as the relationships they formed with the people they met along the way.
During their travels, Sonny and Will encountered a variety of situations, from hijacking to illegal immigration to environmental disasters. The show also touched on social issues such as race relations, poverty, and drug addiction.
In addition to the main characters, Movin' On featured a rotating cast of guest stars, including future stars such as Martin Sheen, Rob Reiner, and Ellen Burstyn.
