The Time Tunnel followed the adventures of scientists Tony Newman and Doug Phillips, who get trapped in a secret government project that involves sending people through time. Using a large, complex time machine, Newman and Phillips are sent on various missions to the past and future, encountering historical figures and events along the way.
The series was known for its colorful sets and special effects, as well as its impressive guest stars, including Michael Rennie, Joseph Cotten, and Joan Crawford.
