The Quest was a reality-TV competition series that aired on ABC in 2014. Created by Mark Ordesky and produced by Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri, the show combined elements of fantasy storytelling, LARPing (live-action role-playing), and reality TV challenges.
The show introduced viewers to the Kingdom of Everealm, a fictional world filled with magical creatures, mysterious quests, and dangerous villains. Eight contestants, known as "Paladins," were selected to compete in a series of challenges designed to test their skills, courage, and teamwork.
Each episode of the show followed the Paladins as they embarked on a new mission, ranging from battles with trolls and goblins to uncovering ancient artifacts and deciphering obscure clues. Along the way, the contestants were mentored by a cast of colorful characters, including a wise wizard, a fierce warrior, and a mischievous innkeeper.
As the competition progressed, the Paladins earned points and faced elimination rounds, with the ultimate goal of fulfilling an ancient prophecy and saving the Kingdom of Everealm from a powerful evil force.
The Quest was praised for its innovative concept, immersive world-building, and engaging storytelling. Despite positive reviews, the show only aired for one season, and there have been no plans for a sequel or reboot.
