Shirley was a spin-off of the popular TV show Laverne & Shirley and followed the life of Shirley Feeney (played by Cindy Williams) after her best friend Laverne DeFazio (Penny Marshall) got married and moved away. The series took place in the early 1960s and centered on Shirley's life as a divorced mother working as a bank teller in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Along with her two children and her father, Shirley navigated the challenges of raising a family on her own and finding love again. The show was cancelled after just one season due to low ratings.
