Only Fools and Horses is a British sitcom that aired from 1981 to 2003. It was created and written by John Sullivan, and starred David Jason as Del Boy and Nicholas Lyndhurst as Rodney. The show follows the lives and misadventures of the Trotter brothers, who live in a council flat in Peckham, London. Del Boy is a wheeler dealer, always looking for a way to make a quick buck, while Rodney is his younger, more sensible brother who often questions his schemes.
Throughout the series, Del Boy and Rodney get involved in a variety of dodgy deals, from selling faulty blow-up dolls to buying a faulty car and trying to sell it on for a profit. Despite their constant failures, they always remain optimistic that their luck will change and that they will one day become millionaires.
Other characters in the show include Trigger, Del Boy's dim-witted friend, Boycie, a local businessman, and Uncle Albert, an elderly war veteran who often tells tall tales about his time in the navy.
Only Fools and Horses was hugely popular in the UK, and is often cited as one of the greatest British sitcoms of all time. It won numerous awards, including several BAFTAs, and remains a beloved classic to this day.
