The TV Hulk is a live-action TV series that aired from 1978 to 1982. It stars Bill Bixby as Dr. David Banner, a scientist who was exposed to a high level of gamma radiation and transforms into a green-skinned creature, the Hulk, whenever he gets angry. Lou Ferrigno plays the Hulk.
The series follows Banner as he seeks a cure for his condition while on the run from the authorities who believe him to be a dangerous monster. Each episode sees Banner encountering new people and situations, with the Hulk often coming to the aid of those in need.
The characters throughout the series include Jack Colvin as ambitious reporter Jack McGee, who is obsessed with finding and exposing the Hulk. Other recurring characters include Dr. Elaina Marks (Mariette Hartley), who helps Banner in his search for a cure, and Dr. Carolyn Fields (Donna Mills), a psychiatrist who helps Banner deal with his condition.
The show was notable for its emotional depth and exploration of Banner's struggles with his dual identity as well as the social issues it tackled, such as animal rights, drug addiction, and discrimination. It remains popular to this day and is regarded as a classic of superhero television.
