The animated Butch Cassidy series followed the adventures of the legendary outlaw Butch Cassidy and his group of young musicians, the Sundance Kids. Together they traveled across the Old West, getting into all sorts of trouble and facing off against various villains. The show was aimed at children, and was notable for its catchy theme song and colorful, cartoonish animation style. Despite the playful tone of the show, it did not shy away from the violent nature of Butch Cassidy's real-life exploits, although any onscreen violence was generally toned down for its young audience.
