Yumeji becomes obsessed with the widow, named Tomoyo, as she continues her search for her husband's body. He begins to paint her portrait, using her as his muse for his art. As they spend more time together, a complicated and intense relationship develops between them.
Meanwhile, Yumeji's fiancée, Hikono, becomes increasingly worried about his behavior and infidelity. She struggles with her own feelings of love and loyalty towards Yumeji, despite his obvious disregard for their engagement.
