Youngstown follows the story of Sarah, a young woman who is placed into witness protection after witnessing a crime committed by a dangerous gang member. However, Sarah is a terrible liar and quickly begins to struggle with keeping up her new identity. She finds solace in befriending Jack, a charming but harmless grifter who is also hiding out in the witness protection program.
As they journey to Sarah's hometown for the annual fair, they encounter a variety of misadventures and mix-ups, constantly being forced to improvise their way out of sticky situations. Along the way, Sarah and Jack form an unlikely bond, helping each other navigate through their new identities and overcome their personal fears.
As they approach the fair, Sarah's nerves are tested as she begins to question whether she made the right decision in testifying against the gang member. However, with Jack by her side, Sarah finds the courage to face her past and stand up for what is right.
