Young Doctors in Love is a 1982 comedy film directed by Garry Marshall and written by Michael Elias and Rich Eustis. The film is a parody of medical dramas and soap operas, featuring an ensemble cast that includes Michael McKean, Sean Young, Harry Dean Stanton, Patrick Macnee, Dabney Coleman and Ted McGinley.

The story centers on a group of young doctors and nurses at a busy hospital, who find themselves involved in a series of absurd situations and mishaps. The film follows the romantic and professional lives of these medical professionals, as they deal with difficult patients, bureaucratic administrators, and their own personal problems.

At the center of the film is Dr. Simon August (played by Michael McKean), a brilliant young surgeon who suffers from an extreme fear of blood. Despite this handicap, August is determined to become a great doctor, but his attempts to overcome his phobia inevitably lead to disastrous results in the operating room.

Meanwhile, the head nurse (played by Sean Young) catches the eye of Dr. Charles Litto (Patrick Macnee), an unscrupulous physician who is more interested in finding the key to the hospital's drug cabinet than in pursuing a real relationship.

As if these problems weren't enough, the hospital is also dealing with the presence of a dangerous mafioso who is hiding out in the hospital disguised as a woman (played by Dabney Coleman).

Young Doctors in Love is a silly and irreverent comedy that pokes fun at the melodramatic clichés of medical dramas and daytime soap operas. The film features a number of memorable performances and gags, including a hilarious sequence in which Dr. August uses a boombox to distract himself during surgery, and a car-chase scene that takes place inside the hospital.
