Alex's wish comes true when he wakes up one morning in a world where he is popular and successful. His parents treat him better, he is no longer the laughing stock of his school, and he is finally dating the girl of his dreams. However, as he begins to adjust to his new life, he realizes that something is wrong. He discovers that Stevie no longer exists, and in his new world, his little brother is a nationally famous kid actor with a huge ego.
Alex soon realizes that his wish has come with a steep price. He decides to track down the old man who gave Stevie the coin and demand that his wish be undone. However, he discovers that the old man has no memory of him or the coin. Alex then tries to find a different way to reverse his wish and reconnect with his brother.
In the end, Alex learns that all he really wanted was his family and his old life back. He finally wakes up to find himself back in his old world, grateful for what he has and realizing the importance of family and being true to oneself. The movie ends with Alex and Stevie happily bonding over their shared experiences, and Alex finally appreciating the little brother he once took for granted.
