You Instead is a romantic comedy set in Scotland at a three-day music festival. The two feuding rock stars are Adam, lead singer of the band The Make, and Morello, lead singer of the all-female band The Dirty Pink. They cross paths backstage and get into a heated argument over equipment sharing and ego clashes. As a result, they are mistakenly handcuffed together by a disgruntled festival manager and are forced to spend the next 24 hours physically attached to each other.

Initially angry and resentful, Adam and Morello soon realize they have to put aside their differences in order to perform their respective sets. The film follows their hilarious and often awkward attempts at navigating the festival grounds while handcuffed together, including sharing a tent, using the porta-potties, and dealing with overly enthusiastic fans.

As the day progresses, the two musicians start to develop a grudging respect for each other and realize they have more in common than they initially thought. Their musical talents also start to combine during impromptu jam sessions, and they begin to collaborate on a new song that has the potential to be a hit.

The film is filled with lively music performances from both The Make and The Dirty Pink, and the picturesque backdrop of the Scottish countryside adds to the festival atmosphere. You Instead is a fun and enjoyable romp that showcases the transformative power of music and the unexpected connections that can arise from unlikely circumstances.
