In the movie, Izzy (played by Sandrine Holt) travels with her daughter and husband, Chris (played by Barry Corbin), to Chris' hometown in Mississippi. However, when they arrive, Chris seems distant and preoccupied with his job at the local bank. Izzy soon discovers that Chris is having an affair with their daughter's teacher, Kate (played by Rumer Willis), who is eager to take over Izzy's role as wife and mother.
As Izzy navigates the small town's gossip and hostility, she also confronts her own childhood traumas and family secrets. She forms a bond with her estranged father, who helps her uncover the truth behind her mother's death and her family's troubled past.
