Drama,Comedy,Romance  France,Italy

Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow is a classic Italian comedy film released in 1963. The movie is divided into three stories, each focusing on a different woman who uses her sexuality to get what she wants.

In the first story, titled Adelina, Sophia Loren plays a poor wife and mother living in Naples. She and her husband struggle to make ends meet and keep their young children fed. Adelina repeatedly gets pregnant in order to avoid serving prison time for stealing sacks of bread. Her husband is unable to provide for her, leading her to seek help from a wealthy businessman named Carmine. She seduces Carmine with her charm, ultimately convincing him to pay for her husband's bail and give her money for her family.

The second story, Anna, features Loren again, this time as a wealthy Milanese woman in a loveless marriage. Anna spends her days shopping and going to therapy, feeling unfulfilled and bored with her life. When she meets an attractive young writer named Renzo, she starts an affair with him. Anna sees Renzo as a way to escape her unfulfilling marriage and find passion and adventure in life. However, after a botched attempt to run away with Renzo, Anna realizes that her true happiness comes from her newfound independence.

In the final story, Mara, Italian actress Gina Lollobrigida plays a high-class prostitute who falls in love with a young seminary student named Augusto. Mara uses her beauty and charm to lure Augusto to her bed, hoping that he will leave the seminary and marry her. However, Augusto's religious beliefs prevent him from committing to Mara, causing her to spiral into a depression.

Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow is a well-regarded classic of Italian cinema, known for its clever writing and talented cast. The film won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1965, further cementing its place in cinematic history.
