The movie Yamakasi follows a group of seven urban athletes who are known for their unparalleled skills in parkour and free-running. The group is led by a man named Boomer, who is considered the most skilled traceur of them all. Boomer and his teammates, including L'Araignée, Rocket, and Zicmu among others, grew up in the tough suburbs of Paris and use their skills to escape the harsh realities of their everyday lives.
Despite their impressive abilities, the group is constantly facing societal injustices that make life difficult for them and the people they care about. When a young boy named Djamel is severely injured while trying to copy their moves, the Yamakasi decide to use their skills for a noble cause. They plan a series of heists against rich people in the city, with the aim of raising enough money to pay for Djamel's medical bills.
As they move from one heist to another, the Yamakasi face numerous challenges and confrontations. Along the way, they are pursued by a relentless police officer named Lieutenant Vincent, who is determined to bring them to justice. The group also faces inner conflicts, as they struggle to balance their desire to help Djamel with their own personal aspirations and relationships.
