Wuthering Heights is a novel written by Emily Bronte and adapted into numerous movies, including the 1939 version directed by William Wyler. The movie tells the story of Heathcliff, an orphan who is taken in by the Earnshaw family and falls in love with their daughter Catherine. Despite their strong bond, Catherine chooses to marry another man, causing Heathcliff to seek revenge and turn to cruelty. The story is set against the backdrop of the moody and eerie Yorkshire Moors, and the movie captures the beautiful yet haunting landscape of the English countryside.
