The movie follows a group of contestants on a reality show called "The Ultimate Survivalist: Apocalypse" who are dropped into a remote part of West Virginia to test their survival skills. The group includes a diverse set of individuals, including a former marine, a punk rocker, an ex-convict, and a preppy schoolteacher.
As the contestants make their way through the forest, they discover that they are not alone. They stumble upon an abandoned mental hospital and soon encounter a group of inbred cannibals who have been living in the woods for generations. The contestants are hunted down one by one by the cannibal family, who are determined to make them their next meal.
Amid the chaos, Colonel Dale Murphy, the show's host, must decide whether to intervene and save the contestants or continue to film for the sake of the show. The survivors must use their wits and their survival skills to try to outsmart the cannibal family and make it out of the woods alive.
The movie features intense action and gore, with plenty of suspenseful scenes as the contestants are stalked by the cannibal family. It also explores themes of survival, sacrifice, and human nature in extreme situations.
