Wrong Turn is a horror movie that follows a group of hikers who decide to venture off the Appalachian Trail in search of adventure. The group comprises of Jen (played by Charlotte Vega), her boyfriend Darius (played by Adain Bradley), her friend Adam (played by Dylan McTee), and a few others. As they are exploring the wilderness, they stumble upon an old watchtower and decide to investigate.
As they explore the watchtower, a group of mountain men suddenly attack them. The group of hikers initially believes the men are just hostile locals, but they soon realize that they are dealing with something far more sinister. The hikers are then hunted by the mountain men, who turn out to be part of a hidden community called The Foundation.
The Foundation is a group of people who have been living in the mountains for generations, cut off from civilization and modern ways of life. They viciously defend their territory from outsiders and use deadly means to do so. The hikers soon learn that The Foundation is not just hunting them for trespassing, but also for breeding purposes. The Foundation is running low on genetic diversity and sees the hikers as suitable candidates to add to their gene pool.
Jen's father (played by Matthew Modine) launches a rescue mission to save his daughter and her friends. The Foundation's leader, Venable (played by Bill Sage), sees Jen and her friends as a threat and orders his followers to eliminate them. The rest of the movie follows the intense and brutal battle between the hikers and The Foundation.
Wrong Turn is a gruesome and terrifying movie that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. The movie is a reboot of the original franchise and has received mixed reviews. However, fans of horror movies and fans of the original franchise are likely to enjoy this movie.
