Wolfen is a 1981 horror movie directed by Michael Wadleigh and starring Albert Finney. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Whitley Streiber.
The story follows a police detective named Dewey Wilson (played by Finney), who is investigating a series of grisly murders in New York City. The victims appear to have been savagely attacked by animals, but the wounds are far too deep and precise to have been inflicted by any known animal species.
As Dewey delves deeper into the case, he begins to uncover evidence that suggests that the killings may have been committed by a pack of highly intelligent and powerful creatures known as the Wolfen. According to legend, the Wolfen are an ancient and powerful race of beings that have long lived in the shadows of humanity, hunting and preying on those who threaten their existence.
As Dewey races against time to stop the Wolfen before they strike again, he must confront his own fears and come to grips with the fact that there are forces in the world that are far beyond his understanding and control.
