Wish Man follows the life of Frank Shankwitz, the founder of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Frank (played by Andrew Steel) is a motorcycle cop who is haunted by the traumatic memories of his youth. His parents separated when he was young, and he never saw his father again. This event left a deep scar on him, and he spent his life yearning for love and acceptance.
One day, while patrolling the streets, Frank gets into a horrific accident. The accident leaves him badly injured, and he is forced to recuperate in a hospital. There, he meets a young boy named Chris (played by Max Wasa), who is terminally ill. Chris is a cheerful boy who is always looking for ways to make the best of his situation, even though he knows he doesn't have much time left.
Frank is touched by the boy's spirit and agrees to help him fulfill his lifelong wish of becoming a Highway Patrol motorcycle officer for a day. This event leads Frank to reunite with his estranged father after 28 years. The reunion is bittersweet, but it gives Frank the closure he needs to move on.
Inspired by Chris's positive outlook on life, Frank decides to start the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Foundation becomes a huge success, helping thousands of children worldwide.
