Harry and Moe are old friends who have been working as errand boys for the Mob for many years. They are not very good at their job and often find themselves in trouble with their boss, the ruthless mobster, "The Boss". One day, they are given a job to deliver $250,000 in cash to a mysterious man in a New Jersey motel. However, things go wrong when the money is stolen from them by a beautiful woman, who turns out to be an undercover FBI agent.
The Boss thinks Harry and Moe have stolen the money and sets them up to kill each other. However, the two men figure out what has happened and decide to run away to Atlantic City to try and recover the stolen cash before they are killed.
In Atlantic City, they end up staying in a casino hotel owned by the eccentric "Kid" Sally Palumbo, who takes a liking to them and offers to help them with their problems. However, they soon discover that the casino is in financial trouble and decide to use their Mob connection to help the Kid out.
The three of them plan a scheme to rob the Boss and use the stolen money to save the casino. Of course, things don't go according to plan and chaos ensues, with Harry and Moe trying to outfox the Boss and his henchmen, while trying to keep the FBI at bay.
Wise Guys is a classic comedy with plenty of slapstick humor and witty one-liners. It stars Joe Piscopo and Danny DeVito as the hapless Harry and Moe, with Captain Lou Albano as the Boss and Harvey Keitel as the FBI agent in charge of the case. It was directed by Brian De Palma and written by George Gallo.
