In the movie "Wisdom," John Wisdom (Emilio Estevez), a recent college graduate, struggles to find work due to a past felony conviction. His girlfriend Karen (Demi Moore) has similar difficulties finding employment. Frustrated and disillusioned with the American system, John comes up with a plan to help financially struggling farmers by robbing banks and distributing the stolen money to those in need.
Together, John and Karen embark on a cross-country crime spree, with John adopting the alias "The Fox." As they successfully carry out their robberies, they gain notoriety and become folk heroes to some. However, they also draw the attention of the FBI and a determined agent named Ackerman (played by Tom Skerritt), who is hot on their trail.
As the group's heists become more frequent and risky, tensions rise between John and Karen. John begins to question the morality of their actions and the affect they are having on innocent people. Additionally, he worries about the consequences of their crimes and the impact it will have on their future.
The film is a gritty, action-packed drama that explores issues of morality, justice, and the American Dream. It features strong performances from Estevez, Moore, and Skerritt and was directed by Estevez himself. Despite receiving mixed reviews upon its release in 1986, "Wisdom" has gained a cult following over the years.
