Kat, the protagonist of Winter's Dream, is a former professional skier who gave up her skiing career after a tragic accident. She now works as a ski aid and ski shop worker at Bliss Mountain, Oregon, a small town with a ski resort that is struggling to attract tourists. Kat takes it upon herself to organize a Winterfest to draw business to the town, and in doing so, hopes to help her struggling community.
The arrival of Ty and his daughter Anna from New York brings a new energy to Bliss Mountain. Ty is a widowed father who has come to the town with Anna to train with their mutual friend and former ski champion, Maddy. However, Maddy's coaching style proves to be too aggressive for Anna, and Kat steps in to coach Anna instead.
As Kat spends more time with Ty and Anna, she begins to develop feelings for Ty. The feeling is mutual, and the two soon start a romantic relationship. Meanwhile, Kat prepares for the Winterfest, pouring all her effort and energy into making it a success.
However, everything seems to go wrong on the day of the Winterfest. Anna gets injured during a practice run and loses her confidence, causing her to rethink her plan to participate in the race and want to go back home to New York early with Ty. Kat faces the risk of losing both her new relationship with Ty and the rekindled confidence she has in her coaching abilities.
As the event unfolds, Kat, Ty, and Anna are forced to confront their fears and doubts. They each look deep within themselves to find the strength and resolve they need to push forward. In the end, they learn that by facing their fears and working together, they can achieve anything they set their minds to.
