Wimbledon is a romantic sports-comedy film released in 2004, directed by Richard Loncraine, written by Adam Brooks, and starring Paul Bettany and Kirsten Dunst. The film tells the story of a fictional tennis player named Peter Colt (Bettany), a former tennis star who has fallen into a slump since he achieved his highest rank of 11. He decides to compete at Wimbledon for one last time before retiring from the game.

While in Wimbledon, Peter meets a rising young American tennis player named Lizzie Bradbury (Dunst), who enters the tournament as a wildcard. Despite their different perspectives on tennis and life, Peter and Lizzie start to fall in love with each other as they play tennis and spend more time together.

As Peter advances in the Wimbledon tournament, he begins to regain his confidence and ambition with the help of Lizzie, who mentors him in her own ways. However, their romance becomes complicated when Lizzie's father, Dennis (Sam Neill), becomes determined to use his daughter's success to profit from sponsorship deals.

Despite the challenges, Peter and Lizzie manage to reach the Wimbledon finals and play against each other. In a thrilling match, Peter eventually wins the championship, but he realizes that his love for Lizzie is more important than his victory. He confesses his love for her, and they unite as a couple.

In the end, Peter decides to retire from professional tennis and start a new life with Lizzie, while Dennis reluctantly accepts their love. The film ends with Peter and Lizzie walking away together, hand in hand, with their tennis rackets over their shoulders.
