Wildling is a 2018 horror thriller film directed by Fritz Böhm. The movie follows Anna, a young girl who has been kept in captivity by her father as she grows up. Her father tells her that she has a rare disease, and that venturing out into the outside world could be dangerous for her.
However, as Anna turns into a teenager, her father dies and she is discovered by Sheriff Ellen Cooper. Anna is hesitant and scared of the outside world but gradually begins to trust Ellen. As Anna tries to acclimate to the new environment, she realizes that her father's stories were lies and that she is not who she thought she was.
As the story progresses, Anna learns about what it means to be human, and how the world is not as black and white as her father made it out to be. She learns about love, friendship, and betrayal, and has to fight for her life when she discovers a secret about herself that could threaten everyone around her.
The movie stars Bel Powley as Anna, Brad Dourif as Anna’s father, Liv Tyler as Sheriff Ellen Cooper, and James Le Gros as Ellen’s brother, the local doctor.
Wildling is a gripping story of coming-of-age and self-discovery, mixed with horror and suspense, and has received positive reviews for its unique and thought-provoking storyline and strong performances from its cast.
