Who's Minding the Store? Movie Where To Watch

Love and Retail: A Battle Royale

Romance,Comedy  United States of America

In the beginning of the movie, Norman Phiffer (played by Jerry Lewis) works at a low-level job in a department store. He falls in love with Barbara Tuttle (played by Jill St. John), who is the daughter of the store's owner. Norman is unaware of Barbara's family background and believes she is also working at the store as a salesgirl.

Barbara's mother, Mrs. Tuttle (played by Agnes Moorehead), is not pleased with her daughter's relationship with Norman, who she considers to be beneath their family's social status. Mrs. Tuttle tries to put a stop to the relationship by hiring Norman to work at the store's maintenance department, hoping that he will be embarrassed by the menial tasks he will be assigned and that Barbara will break up with him.

However, Norman takes on the challenge with enthusiasm and uses his creativity and unique approach to turn the maintenance department into a highly successful division, disrupting Mrs. Tuttle's plans. Norman also becomes aware of Barbara's family background, which provides a new source of tension in their relationship.

Throughout the movie, Norman's unorthodox actions make him the subject of ridicule and disapproval from those around him. But despite the challenges, he remains true to himself and his love for Barbara. In the end, Norman manages to save the department store from a potential disaster, proving once again that nobody can underestimate his abilities.

The film is a classic comedy with Jerry Lewis at his best, and it explores themes of love, family dynamics, and social status with a lighthearted approach.
