In the movie White Sands, Sheriff Ray Dolezal (played by Willem Dafoe) is called to investigate a body found in the middle of the desert. The body belongs to a man named Gregory Tavares, who has a suitcase filled with half a million dollars.

Intrigued by the situation, Dolezal decides to impersonate Tavares in order to find out more about how he got the money. He follows a trail of clues that lead him deeper into the criminal underworld, where he meets dangerous individuals such as Gorman Lennox (played by Mickey Rourke).

As he delves deeper into the mystery, Dolezal becomes entangled in an FBI investigation led by Agent Lane Bodine (played by Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio). Bodine believes that Tavares was involved in smuggling drugs across the border and enlists Dolezal to help her catch the culprits.

The plot thickens as Dolezal becomes unsure who he can trust and starts to question his own morality. He is torn between staying true to his duty as a lawman and giving in to the temptation of the money and power that he has access to through his Tavares persona.

White Sands is a crime thriller that explores themes of corruption, greed, and identity. With a stellar cast and gripping storyline, it keeps viewers on the edge of their seats until the very end.
