White of the Eye is a 1987 British thriller film directed by Donald Cammell, based on the novel "Mrs. White" by Margaret Tracy. The movie follows the life of David Keith, a talented sound engineer, living in the quiet suburbs of Arizona with his wife, Joan White. They have a seemingly ordinary life until a series of bizarre murders occur in the area. The victims are all housewives who have been brutally mutilated.

As the investigation continues, it becomes apparent that all the evidence points to David Keith as the culprit. The detective in charge of the case, Charles Dance, is convinced that David is the murderer. But David, who has a history of mental illness, denies any involvement in the crimes. In an attempt to clear his name, David teams up with his friend, Paulie (played by Alan Rosenberg), to uncover the true identity of the killer.

David's erratic behavior and troubled past are revealed in flashbacks throughout the movie, along with his unhappy marriage to Joan (played by Cathy Moriarty). Meanwhile, the killer's identity is slowly revealed, and the plot takes a shocking turn as the truth is uncovered.

Despite being obscure at the time of its release, White of the Eye has been noted for its suspenseful atmosphere, stylish direction, and strong performances from its cast. The movie has garnered a cult following among fans of the psychological thriller genre.
