The movie White Noise follows the story of Jonathan Rivers, a successful professor and loving family man, whose life is turned upside down when his wife Mary dies unexpectedly. He is consumed with grief, but soon begins to receive mysterious messages from beyond the grave through EVP, electronic voice phenomena.
As he becomes more and more obsessed with communicating with his deceased wife, Jonathan unknowingly opens a door to the other side, and is eventually drawn into a dangerous world of the paranormal. When he stumbles upon a group of people who claim to be able to communicate with the dead, he becomes convinced that his wife is trying to reach him from beyond the grave.
Things take a terrifying turn when a chemical spill causes an "Airborne Toxic Event," unleashing deadly toxins into the air. Jonathan is forced to confront his own mortality and face the reality that life is fragile and precious.
As the lines between life and death become increasingly blurred, Jonathan must fight to save his own sanity and the lives of those he loves, while trying to uncover the truth behind the messages he's receiving from the other side.
