Drama  Hungary,Sweden,Germany

White God is a Hungarian movie directed by Kornél Mundruczó, released in 2014. It won the prestigious Un Certain Regard prize at the Cannes Film Festival. The movie is a social commentary on the mistreatment of stray dogs and the arbitrary nature of a society that prefers purebred dogs over mutts.

In the movie, Hagen is a mixed-breed dog that is deeply loved by his owner, Lili. However, after a new law is passed that imposes heavy taxes on mixed-breed dogs, Hagen is kicked out of his home and left to fend for himself on the streets of Budapest. Lili is heartbroken and tries to find her beloved pet, but to no avail.

Hagen soon realizes that life on the streets is harsh and unforgiving. He is captured by dog catchers and sent to a pound, where he is subjected to cruel treatment. However, he manages to escape and joins a group of other stray dogs who live in abandoned buildings and underground tunnels.

The dogs are oppressed by humans and subjected to abuse. They are forced to fight each other for the entertainment of humans and are hunted down by dog catchers. However, Hagen is a natural leader and he rallies the dogs to fight back against their oppressors.

The climax of the movie is a brutal and violent uprising by the dogs against humans. It is a thrilling and harrowing sequence that is both shocking and thought-provoking. The movie ends on a poignant note as Lili and Hagen are reunited, but the effects of the revolution are felt long after the credits have rolled.

White God is a powerful and emotional movie that explores themes of animal rights, social injustice, and the bond between humans and dogs. It is a must-see for anyone who loves dogs or cares about the welfare of animals.
