While at War (original title: Mientras dure la guerra) is a Spanish historical drama film released in 2019, directed by Alejandro Amenรกbar. The movie tells the story of Miguel de Unamuno, a renowned writer and philosopher who was also the rector of the University of Salamanca in Spain during the Spanish Civil War.

At the beginning of the movie, Unamuno openly supports the military uprising led by General Francisco Franco, which brought catharsis to the country and toppled the democratically elected government of Spain. Unamuno's actions result in his removal from the post of rector, shocking the academic community and his own colleagues.

However, as the war progresses and Franco's troops begin to take control, Unamuno starts to question his own principles. He realizes that the military uprising he had supported has given way to a brutal authoritarian regime, and that his own actions may have contributed to this outcome. Unamuno becomes increasingly vocal in his dissent, challenging Franco's regime and the atrocities it commits.

The film depicts the turmoil of the Spanish society during the civil war, as well as the intense personal struggles of Unamuno as he grapples with his own conscience and the oppressive society around him. The film was well-received by critics and won several awards, including the Goya Award for Best Original Screenplay.
