When I Get Home, My Wife Always Pretends to be Dead is a Japanese comedy film directed by Toshio Lee. The story begins when salary man Jun (played by Ken Yasuda) returns home from work and finds his wife Chie (Nana Eikura) lying on the floor bleeding from her mouth. Initially shocked by the scene, he soon discovers that it is just ketchup, and Chie is playing a prank on him.

To Jun's surprise, Chie decides to keep playing dead every time he comes home from work. She doesn't give any reason for her behavior, which baffles Jun. As days pass, Jun starts getting uneasy with his wife's antics, but he can't seem to figure out why she is doing this.

Things take a more complicated turn when Jun's co-worker, Kojiro (Yoshiyoshi Arakawa), starts showing a romantic interest in Chie. This leads to a series of hilarious misunderstandings and situations that add to Jun's troubles.

As the story unfolds, Jun realizes that Chie's behavior is possibly a way of expressing her dissatisfaction with their monotonous everyday life. But he is unsure of how to deal with it, and the situation only gets worse when Chie's sister and parents get involved, leading to a chaotic family drama.

When I Get Home, My Wife Always Pretends to be Dead is a light-hearted and entertaining comedy that mixes humor and drama in equal measures. It explores the themes of love, relationship, and the struggles of modern-day married life, with a touch of absurdity that makes it a unique cinematic experience.
