After Kevin Caffery's failed robbery attempt at Max Fairbanks' home, Fairbanks decides to torment Caffery by taking his lucky ring. This ring was given to Caffery by his girlfriend Amber Belhaven and he believes that it brings him good luck. Caffery is determined to get the ring back and seeks the help of his partner Berger, who is an expert in stealing, and his friend "Uncle Jack" who is a retired thief.
Together, they plan a series of heists on Fairbanks' various properties in order to retrieve the ring. However, Fairbanks seems to always be one step ahead and catches them in the act every time. As the feud between Caffery and Fairbanks escalates, both men become increasingly desperate and reckless in their attempts to come out on top.
Meanwhile, Amber becomes fed up with Caffery's obsession with the ring and his willingness to risk everything for it. She confronts him about his priorities and warns him that his criminal lifestyle is dangerous and unsustainable. Despite her warnings, Caffery persists with his plan and eventually, with the help of his partners, manages to outsmart Fairbanks and reclaim his ring.
In the end, Caffery realizes that the ring was not worth risking his freedom and relationships with loved ones. He returns the stolen goods and turns himself in to the authorities. Fairbanks is also punished for his wrongdoing and the two men are finally able to move on from their feud.
