What Planet Are You From? is a 2000 science fiction comedy film directed by Mike Nichols and written by Garry Shandling, Michael Leeson, Ed Solomon, and Peter Tolan. The film stars Garry Shandling as Harold Anderson, an alien sent to Earth to impregnate a woman as part of a plan to take over the planet. The film also stars Annette Bening as Susan, the unsuspecting woman who Harold sets his sights on.

Harold arrives on Earth and assumes the identity of a banker in Phoenix, Arizona. He begins to search for a woman to impregnate, but his attempts at seduction fail miserably due to his lack of social skills and the presence of his mechanical phallus, which emits a humming noise that is audible to those around him.

After numerous failed attempts, Harold is advised to attend an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting where he meets Susan. She is initially wary of Harold, but he manages to win her over and they begin dating. Harold tells Susan that he cannot have children due to a medical condition, but the truth eventually comes out and she is shocked and upset.

Despite this, Susan decides to marry Harold and they begin trying to conceive a child. As time runs out, Harold begins to develop emotions and grows attached to Susan. He starts to question whether he should continue with the plan to take over Earth or stay with Susan and their child.

As Susan finally becomes pregnant, Harold is forced to make a difficult choice between his duty to his home planet and his newfound love for Susan and their child. He ultimately decides to stay on Earth and raise the child with Susan, abandoning his mission to take over the planet.

The film received mixed reviews from critics but was praised for its performances and humor. It failed to perform well at the box office, however, grossing only $7.3 million against its $60 million budget.
