What Happened to Mr Cha? is a South Korean comedy-drama film released in 2021, directed by Kim Dong-kyu and stars Cha In-pyo, Cho Dal-hwan, and Jo Dal-hwan. The story revolves around Cha In-pyo, a once-popular actor who has been out of work for quite some time, and is now living a quiet life with his family. Instead of the luxurious set he was promised, the shoot is taking place in a rundown villa, and he is accompanied by a group of eccentric staff and co-stars.
As the shoot progresses, Cha In-pyo's ego and temper leave the crew exasperated. However, as he spends more time with the crew, he begins to realize the true value of friendship and the importance of cherishing the present. The movie explores the themes of lost fame, self-discovery, and the redemptive power of humility.
