Werewolf

Drama  Poland,Germany,Netherlands

Werewolf is a gripping and emotional drama set in Poland during the aftermath of World War II. The story centers around a group of eight children who have been liberated from a concentration camp and are now living in a temporary orphanage that has been set up in an abandoned palace on the edge of a dense forest.

The children are looked after by Hanka, who is also a former inmate, and they slowly begin to adjust to their new surroundings. For the first time in a long while, they are able to enjoy a measure of safety, freedom, and a sense of belonging.

But their newfound peace is short-lived as they soon come under attack from a pack of vicious Alsatian dogs. These dogs, which were once used as guard dogs at the concentration camp, have been abandoned and left to fend for themselves. Starving and feral, they now prowl the forest looking for food.

As the dogs move closer and closer to the palace, the children become increasingly scared and traumatized. They quickly realize that they must use all their survival instincts and work together if they want to stay alive. Hanka does her best to protect the children and keep them calm, but she too is haunted by her past experiences in the concentration camp.

The movie is a powerful and affecting portrayal of the enduring trauma caused by war and genocide. It is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the importance of compassion, friendship, and hope in times of despair.
