Captain New Eyes is a eccentric inventor and scientist who creates a special cereal called Brain Grain. He travels back in time to the age of the dinosaurs and feeds the cereal to a group of friendly dinosaurs. The cereal gives the dinosaurs the ability to talk and think like humans, making them intelligent and non-violent.
The dinosaurs agree to go with the Captain to the Middle Future to grant the wishes of children in New York City. Along the way, they meet a young girl named Cecilia, who becomes their friend and helps them navigate the city.
However, there is also a villainous character who tries to stop the dinosaurs from achieving their mission. The Captain's evil brother, Professor Screweyes, runs a circus of fear and wants to use the dinosaurs as part of his twisted show. He tricks the dinosaurs into performing, using special goggles that make them temporarily lose their intelligence and become violent again.
Cecilia and her friends help the dinosaurs escape from Screweyes' circus and they finally find Dr. Bleeb at the Museum of Natural History. Dr. Bleeb helps the dinosaurs return to their own time period, but not before they have one last adventure in space.
