Welcome to the South (Benvenuti al Sud) is a 2010 Italian comedy film directed by Luca Miniero. The film is a remake of the French film Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis. The film stars Claudio Bisio, Angela Finocchiaro, and Valentina Lodovini.

The story revolves around Alberto, a post office manager from the north of Italy, who is desperate to get a transfer to Milan. When his wife Sylvia reveals that the only way for him to get the transfer is by pretending to be disabled, Alberto agrees to the plan. However, his trick fails and he is transferred to a small town in Campania in the south of Italy.

Alberto is initially resistant to the idea of living in the south but soon discovers that the people there are warm and welcoming. He also finds himself falling in love with the region's beautiful landscape and cuisine. Alberto makes friends with the locals, including the postman, Mattia (Alessandro Siani), and his wife Maria (Valentina Lodovini). Together, they show him the true beauty of the south of Italy.

As Alberto adjusts to his new life in the south, he realizes that his initial biases were unfounded. He begins to appreciate the differences between the north and the south and comes to love his new home. Eventually, he decides to stay in the south and withdraws his request for a transfer to Milan.

Welcome to the South is a heartwarming comedy that tackles themes of cultural differences and stereotypes. The film received critical acclaim for its humor, performances, and message of acceptance. It spawned a sequel, Welcome to the North (Benvenuti al Nord) in 2012.
