Wee Willie Winkie is a 1937 adventure film directed by John Ford and starring Shirley Temple in the lead role of Priscilla "Wee Willie" Williams. The film is set in colonial India in the late nineteenth century and is based on the 1888 short story of the same name by Rudyard Kipling.
The story follows young Priscilla as she arrives at her grandfather's military outpost and quickly becomes enamored with the soldiers and their way of life. She strikes up a friendship with a young officer named Lieutenant Brandes (Victor McLaglen) and becomes involved in a dangerous plot to stop a group of local rebels from attacking the outpost.
