Anderson is a man who lost his first love in a tragic accident. He has never been able to move on from her and is convinced that he will never love again. His best friend, Ted, sees him struggling and suggests that he should try asking a stranger to marry him on a whim. Anderson takes the suggestion as a joke, but to his surprise, the first woman he approaches, a waitress named Katie, accepts his proposal.
