Maisy's sister, Jenna, was a popular cheerleader at her college before she died suddenly. Maisy decides to transfer to the same college to find out what really happened to her sister. She soon learns that Jenna was keeping a secret life as a webcam girl, which leads Maisy to suspect that her sister's death was not an accident, but rather the result of a dangerous and nefarious underworld of webcam modeling.
As she digs deeper into her investigation, Maisy discovers that a number of the girls on the cheerleading squad are also involved in the webcam world. She befriends some of these girls in her quest for the truth, but soon realizes that exposing their secret could have dangerous consequences.
As she struggles to balance her desire for justice with her fear of retribution, Maisy is forced to confront her own demons and face the possibility that her sister's death may have been inevitable, given the darkness that lurked beneath the surface of college life.
