We Need to Do Something is a horror thriller movie directed by Sean King O'Grady and based on the novella of the same name by Max Booth III. The story follows a family comprising of father Robert (Pat Healy), mother Diane (Vinessa Shaw), teenage daughter Melissa (Sierra McCormick), and young son Bobby (John James Cronin). They seek refuge in their home's bathroom during a vicious storm, only to find themselves trapped inside due to a fallen tree that has blocked the door.
As time passes, the family begins to unravel as secrets are revealed and tensions rise. Melissa's rebellious behavior and drug use exacerbate the situation, while Robert and Diane's marital problems also come to the forefront. The cramped quarters and lack of amenities take a toll, with the family making do with meager rations of food and water. They try to sustain themselves by using the bathroom sink as a makeshift source of water and the toilet for their bodily needs.
As they remain trapped, strange occurrences begin to happen, and the family realizes that there might be something sinister lurking just beyond the walls. They hear inexplicable noises and feel an ominous presence watching them. With no means of communication with the outside world, they struggle to survive as the situation spirals out of control.
In their desperation, the family tries to find a way out, but all their attempts are futile.
