We Are What We Are follows the Parker family, who live in a secluded rural town and have a dark secret. Following the unexpected death of their mother, the Parker family is forced to continue their annual religious tradition, which involves hunting and killing humans to consume their flesh. As the Parker siblings Iris and Rose struggle to keep their family's tradition alive, their father Frank tries to keep them together, while their community becomes increasingly suspicious of their disturbing rituals. The film explores themes of family, tradition, and the monstrous nature of humanity.
