The three girls, Klara, Bobo, and Hendrik, attend the same school and are outcasts among their peers. They decide to start a punk band, but face challenges such as not knowing how to play instruments and not having access to any. They are also told by their schoolmates and parents that punk is dead.
Despite the obstacles, the girls are determined to make their band work. They borrow instruments and practice in a local youth center. Hendrik teaches herself to play drums, while Klara and Bobo work on writing lyrics. They eventually recruit a boy, Hedvig, who is classically trained on guitar, to join their band.
As they continue to practice and perform at local shows, the girls face criticism and sexism from the punk community. However, they continue to persevere and eventually gain recognition for their talent and passion. Their friendship and love for punk music ultimately brings them closer together and helps them navigate their teenage years.
