Way Out West is a 1937 comedy film directed by James W. Horne and starring Laurel and Hardy. The movie revolves around Stan and Ollie's attempts to deliver a deed to a gold mine to a young girl named Mary Roberts, who is the daughter of a recently deceased prospector.

When Stan and Ollie arrive in the town of Brushwood Gulch, they discover that Mary's crooked guardian, Mickey Finn, and his saloon-singer wife, Lola Marcel, are determined to get their hands on the deed. In order to trick the duo, Finn and Marcel hire a lookalike to impersonate Roberts and deliver the deed to them.

Unaware of the scheme, Stan and Ollie mistake the impostor for Mary and hand over the deed. However, when the real Roberts arrives, they realize what has happened and set out to try and retrieve the document.

Throughout the film, the comedic duo get into various mishaps and misadventures, including a memorable musical number where they dance with a street cleaner and a memorable scene where they try to hide the deed in a seemingly endless game of keep-away.

In the end, after a series of comical encounters, Stan and Ollie successfully retrieve the deed and deliver it to the rightful owner, Mary. The film finishes with a heartwarming scene in which they are rewarded with a brand new gold mine by the grateful Roberts.
