Hubert is a tough cop who doesn't shy away from using violence to solve cases. This often puts him at odds with his boss, and he is eventually forced to take a two-month leave. During this time, he receives news that his ex-girlfriend in Japan has passed away and left him her entire fortune.
Upon arriving in Tokyo, Hubert discovers that his girlfriend also left him a daughter named Yumi, who he had no idea existed. Yumi is a rebellious teenager who doesn't take kindly to Hubert's attempts to become her guardian, causing a lot of tension between the two.
As Hubert starts to investigate the circumstances of his girlfriend's death, he uncovers a conspiracy involving the yakuza, a powerful Japanese crime syndicate. With the help of a former colleague and love interest named Miko, Hubert sets out to bring down the dangerous organization and protect Yumi from harm.
Throughout the movie, Hubert's character is fleshed out and we learn more about his complicated past with his ex-girlfriend, as well as his dedication to law enforcement and his own unique code of honor. The movie also features numerous action-packed fight scenes and humorous moments as Hubert struggles to adjust to Japanese culture and navigate the unfamiliar territory of being a parental figure to Yumi.
