As the squad ventures deeper into the forest, they encounter a group of resistance fighters led by the enigmatic and charismatic Katya. She reveals that the bodies they've found are a part of a pagan ritual sacrifice, and the symbols they bear are the signature of an ancient, evil entity that has been awakened. It seems that the Nazi soldiers were attempting to harness the power of the entity in their quest for victory.
As the group struggles to navigate both the physical and metaphysical terror that surrounds them, they also grapple with their own personal demons. Sergeant Brewer, haunted by his past experiences in battle, starts to unravel as the supernatural force pushes him to the brink of insanity. Walsh, on the other hand, finds himself entangled in a romantic relationship with Katya, despite his loyalty to his wife back home.
As the group fights for survival, they also begin to unravel the larger conspiracy at play. It appears that the entity they're up against is not just a product of ancient mythology, but has been weaponized by the Nazi regime in their efforts to turn the tide of the war. As they race against time to retrieve the top-secret material and prevent the entity from falling into enemy hands, they must also confront their own fears and weaknesses in order to survive.
