War Witch is a Canadian drama film directed by Kim Nguyen and released in 2012. The movie is set in Sub-Saharan Africa and tells the story of Komona, a 14-year-old girl who is abducted by the rebel army and forced to become a child soldier.

The movie begins with Komona telling her unborn child the story of her life since she has been at war. She narrates how she was forced to kill her parents and join the rebel army at the age of 12. Komona later becomes the "War Witch" after she is believed to possess magical powers that can protect the rebel army against their enemies.

During her time at war, Komona falls in love with Magician, a fellow child soldier who is believed to possess magical powers too. The two escape from the army and embark on a dangerous journey to find a better life.

War Witch explores themes of survival, love, and resilience amidst the chaos of war. The movie received critical acclaim and won several awards including the Best Actress award for Rachel Mwanza who played the lead role of Komona.
