After the lightning storm, strange metal tentacles begin to emerge from the ground, destroying buildings and vehicles in their path. Ray and his children, along with his estranged son's girlfriend, flee the chaos and destruction, struggling to find safety and stay alive as they witness the terrifying power of the alien invaders.
As they travel through a devastated landscape, encountering both helpful and hostile survivors along the way, Ray must confront his own shortcomings as a father and rediscover his love for his children in order to protect them from the deadly threat of the aliens.
Throughout their journey, the group learns that the aliens' mission on Earth is to harvest humans as a source of food, and their only hope for survival is to find a way to fight back against the seemingly unstoppable invaders.
As the world descends into chaos and destruction, Ray and his family must rely on each other and their own resourcefulness in order to survive the ultimate battle for humanity's survival.
